Richard John Walsh III said (in a coversation in Manchester on the steps of the Currier Art gallery in Manchester NH, August 2, 2000)..that the Burpee Familm had a rich history of ancestors going back to the 1600's in America. Thomas Burpee was at Bunker Hill. and had been given a land grant for property in New London, New Hampshire.

Funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 6th, with prayers at his home @ 1:45 followed by service @ Saint John's Church @ 2 pm Rev. Millman officiating. Internment in Greenwood Cemetery.Swanson's Funeral Service."
