Lake Ontario in early April with lots of natural debris
Lake Ontario in early April with lots of natural debris

This happens just a couple of times every year and usually in the early Spring. Big rains wash all sorts of debris, mostly natural, down the river and it gets dispersed along the shoreline at Durand. I brought home an armful and I’m letting it dry in the garage. This was my source for “Los Inmigrantes” a few years back.

We have five rows in now, down at the garden, and we potted up our pimientos de padron, jalapeños, tomatoes, kale, collards and some basil. They are in the widow. And when the Daffodils have finished we’ll plant the root vegetables, the beets and carrots.
