In my lifetime nearby Buffalo has lost half its population while Toronto’s population has grown by a factor of five, and Google says this is largely due to immigration. We took the train up here for four days, and the city is modern, bustling, and comfortable.

There was a line for the “Infinity Mirror Room” by Yayoi Kusama at the Art Gallery of Ontario, so we moved on to “Paul McCartney Photographs 1963–64: Eyes of the Storm.” No line here—mostly people our age. Paul’s photos captured the storm, but Beatlemania has been overcooked. I thought the one above was an interesting photo.

Sir Paul took this one as well. Remember the movie, “Scandal?” The wall tag at AGO reads:
Washington, DC, Art House (adult matinee) marquee
Christine Keeler (1942-2017) was a young English woman who, through her work as an escort, became embroiled in a major political scandal in 1963 resulting from simultaneous affairs with John Profumo, the British Minister of War, and Yevgeny Ivanov, the Soviet naval attaché. Keeler-the subject of intense and intrusive media scrutiny-posed for a series of publicity shots, including images of her seated nude astride a wooden chair, which have become emblematic of the “Swinging Sixties” in Britain.”
