It is so nice to have the beach back. Lake Ontario has been more than a foot and a half above normal all summer. We never had to water our garden. In fact, the last two plantings of lettuce and arugula were a bust because the soil was too wet. The lake is still a foot above the 245-foot average for this time of year, but there is enough beach at Durand to walk on in the morning.
