We picked our last batch of Pimientos de Padron in Wednesday’s record-breaking warmth. And we spent the best part of the last couple of days raking leaves. We were watching Barcelona play Aston Villa in the Champions League last night when Peggi felt a tick on her back. I pulled it with tweezers but it had a hold. She called our doctor and he prescribed antibiotics.

This Blue Wave feels like recessive self improvement. The same voters who put the big guy in charge for two terms used its own capabilities to design, optimize, and build a more capable successor version of itself, creating a feedback loop of compounding improvements.
