Way cool article in the morning paper about the Scorgies Reunion tomorrow. Cool picture of Peggi on the front page! And Frank DeBlase did a great piece in City. He used my Polaroids on the cover of this week’s issue.

We had this General Electric blaster that we used to duct tape up to the top of the wooden column in front of the bar at Scorgies and it made some damn good tapes. Arpad transferred a few of the tapes to cd.

Here’s Personal Effect’s version of Tanya Gardner’s “Heartbeat” recorded live at the Peppermint Lounge in 1985 on our blaster.

  1. And yet another article, the best of the three, in Weekend today. Spevak bemoaning the sad state of live club music these days in comparison to the Scorgie’s scene. Very well-written. And he used that picture of Brian Horton standing in, but not a part of, the crowd at Scorgies. Haunting.

  2. So looking forward to the show! I only wish I could find the motivation to dig out all the old pictures(I have them someplace?). I saw you last, a few years ago at a ME show & I was telling you about all the old PE pics I had. We talked about me getting them to you but…………………? It will be great seeing you guys tonight, I will take lots of pics & I’ll be sure you get them all.

  3. I found some motivation! But I haven’t found the majority of the pics from the past yet! I did find a cool one That you signed about 22yrs ago…………….now I have to get the scanner running on a old PC OS so I can digitize it. I spent about an hour standing on top of a ladder in the garage searching box after box. My past is spread out all over the place here at the house. I should start a blog documenting the search for PE Pics 🙂
